Position Overview
Vital Workforce Group is seeking experienced Electrician II candidates for an assignment with one of our established clients in the Virginia Beach area.
This is a hands-on electrical position for professionals with experience in commercial, industrial, manufacturing, or similar electrical environments. The Electrician II will perform electrical installations, testing, troubleshooting, and system verification while working alongside other skilled trades and production personnel.
Successful candidates should demonstrate strong electrical knowledge, quality workmanship, attention to detail, reliability, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Install electrical components, wiring, conduit, panels, controls, and related electrical equipment according to project requirements.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Bend, install, and support conduit and associated electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and identify appropriate corrective actions.
- Perform electrical testing, inspections, and verification to confirm proper system operation.
- Assist with equipment startup, system testing, and operational verification.
- Work alongside other skilled trades and production personnel to complete projects efficiently.
- Follow applicable electrical codes, workplace safety procedures, and industry best practices.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Properly use hand tools, power tools, electrical testing equipment, and other equipment required for the assignment.
- Accurately report completed work, deficiencies, and issues identified during installation and testing.
- Support field installations or other project-related activities when required.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, productivity, safety, and accountability.
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma, GED, vocational training, or equivalent experience.
- Previous electrical experience in commercial, industrial, manufacturing, construction, or related environments.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Experience installing conduit, wiring, electrical components, and equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good mechanical aptitude and familiarity with electrical tools and testing equipment.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to follow instructions and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and professional conduct.
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial or industrial electrical experience.
- Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent electrical credentials.
- Experience with electrical controls, switchgear, power distribution, or industrial equipment.
- Experience working with low-voltage and higher-voltage electrical systems.
- Experience bending and installing conduit.
- Experience operating aerial lifts, forklifts, or material-handling equipment.
- Rigging or related industrial experience.
Physical & Work Requirements
Candidates must be able to work in active industrial and manufacturing environments and regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and move throughout the workday.
The position may require lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, accessing elevated work areas, and working in confined spaces when required.
Candidates must be able to wear required PPE and safely work around electrical systems, tools, equipment, and machinery while following established safety procedures.
